KERSHAW RETIREMENT SOLUTIONS

Understanding Your Medicare Options

Choosing the right coverage can feel overwhelming—but that’s where we come in. At Kershaw Retirement Solutions, we simplify the process and help you find coverage that fits your health needs and budget. Most people enroll in Medicare at age 65, though some may qualify earlier due to disability or serious health conditions.

Traditional Medicare

  • Includes Part A (hospital insurance) and Part B (medical insurance).
  • Prescription drug coverage (Part D) is available through a separate plan.
  • You can see any doctor or hospital in the U.S. that accepts Medicare.
  • Supplemental plans (Medigap) are available to help cover out-of-pocket costs, such as coinsurance and deductibles.

Medicare Advantage (Part C)

  • Offered by private, Medicare-approved companies as an alternative to Traditional Medicare.
  • Combines Part A, Part B, and usually Part D into one bundled plan.
  • Typically requires using in-network doctors and hospitals.
  • May have different out-of-pocket costs and sometimes an extra premium.
  • Often includes additional benefits not covered by Traditional Medicare.
